Definitions for chosen words

Filmmaking - the process of making a film based on a script or screenplay.
Zen Filmmaking - the idea that no screenplay should be used to make a film.
Zen (traditional) - a major school of Mahayana Buddhism with several branches. First appeared in China then moved to Japan.
Zen (common view) - the common view of zen differs although it ultimately leads up to a peaceful state of mind.
Oneiric - the perception of a dream-like state in films.
Film Noir - a term used to describe the stylish Hollywood Crime Dramas, mainly dealing with those that have moral ambiguity and sexual motivation.
Experimental Filmmaking - describes the range of films that are different from the mainstream filmmaking, and is quite opposed to the idea of mainstream commercial and documentary filmmaking.
Film Style - a group of conventions used by various directors to give their movie more meaning, to specify, or to add more depth to the movie.
Film Genre - the method of categorizing a movie based on its content.
Anamorphic - the term that comes to how it is displayed in either a 4:3 or 16:9
Short-Film - a short movie that can be of any genre usually having a low-budget.
