Because the minute you mention the words film, they assume you have money. Tell them you are making a "Birthday Video." What is a "Birthday Video?" I don’t know. But, neither will they.

Pittsburgh Filmmakers
King told me about a biannual film screening for short films thats happening tonight at the Harris Theatre at 7:30. I'm going to go hoping to see Mr. Nelson and ask if he can help me creating my own short movie.

Sorry you missed it, but I totally get that!
You really should contact Nelson and ask him to see his Short. Then interview him for your project- get some tips.
